A Visit From Probation
I just can’t stop fidgeting in my chair
Nervousness grips me tight. I just want to show
I’ve changed, but she doesn’t care.
She says “how’s things going in there?
Any adjudications or I.E.P’s” No!
I just can’t stop fidgeting in my chair.
My desperation now thick in the air,
Explaining myself as she takes notes real slow.
I’ve changed, but she doesn’t care.
An awkward silence as she starts to stare
In my eyes. Trapped with nowhere to go!!
I just can’t stop fidgeting in my chair.
Now desperately trying to hold back this tear,
Forming in my left eye ready to roll,
I’ve changed, but she doesn’t care.
Then she stands to leave just before I crumble from despair,
She says “I’ll write my report and let you know.”
I just can’t stop fidgeting in my chair
I’ve changed, but she doesn’t care.
