Hidden Figures was the 800th film screened by RFS, on 12th March 2019. It was one of the four equal top ranked films of Season 56 (with The Fencer, Truman and Eight Days a Week - The Touring Years), garnering an audience rating of of 95%.
The film tells the untold story of Katherine G. Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson, the brilliant female African-American mathematicians who performed a vital role in NASA during the early years of the U.S. space programme. They were the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history, the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit. The visionary trio crossed all gender and race lines to inspire generations to dream big.
