Can Indian and Western classical music traditions co-exist in the same cultural landscape? What can we learn from the young students who are crossing these boundaries? And how can we support opera and other Western music genres to thrive in India - or is this a problematic idea in itself?

British soprano Nina Kanter has been teaching Western Classical voice at KM Music Conservatory in Chennai for the last two years. Join her as she discusses what she’s learned in this time, the excitement that comes from a unique cultural fusion, and the power of seeing music education globally.

All lectures are available at www.operaprelude.org to watch directly for a suggested donation range between £4-£25 from 10.30am on the day of release and thereafter.

Presented by The Opera Prelude
