    The Tempest

Shakespeare’s mystical final play will be brought to colourful life with fabulous costumes and original music in the RSS’s latest outdoor production on our very own “enchanted isle” of the York House Fountain Gardens, Twickenham riverside.  This is a tale of intrigue and romance, magic and mayhem.  A man has been cast away on a remote island with his daughter – but this is no ordinary island and Prospero is no ordinary man. He is a magus able to control the very elements.  He creates a vast storm, shipwrecking his enemies on his fantastical island where nothing is what it seems, but is this for revenge or reconciliation?

The Three Pigs and The Wolf plus Captain Grimey

The Three Pigs and The Wolf is a lively show that breathes new life into these well-known characters - each of the pigs has an air of mischief and naivety, while the wicked wolf has just a hint of a wry smile. Captain Grimey is the dirtiest, most miserable, one-legged sea captain in the world. It is not until the golden Dolphin befriends him, and helps him to see the error of his ways, that he becomes Captain Shiney and finds true happiness, in this humorous morality tale.

July 22* to July 24 DAILY at 2pm (*relaxed performance on July 22)

July 25 to August 6** DAILY at 2.30pm  (**captioned performance on August 6)

  • FREE FIRST WORLD WAR DANCE EVENT: Celebrating the East Twickenham Belgian Refugees.

'Memories Flow Through Me Like a Boat Flows Down the River'

Award winning choreographer, Jennifer Irons, has been inspired by the unique and almost forgotten stories of the Belgian refugees who settled in the heart of the East Twickenham community during the First World War. A new, evocative piece of site-specific theatre has been created from these stories, bringing to life this remarkable chapter of local history. This wonderful, free event will be performed near the site of the former Pelabon Munitions Works where many of the refugees worked.
