SHAMED
I was in this very smart restaurant
Well, I know it is name dropping, but it’s
Not as bad as posh shopping
Posh labels?
I suppose
Anyway
I met these two lovely German girls
One strait haired the other all curly curls
We chatted right through our meal about
This and that
As one does
But in English
I felt so ashamed
At the very next table was this
Hungarian bloke who joined in with his
Anecdotes which had us all just laughing
Fit to burst
As one does
But in English
I felt so ashamed
And finally there appeared with a swirl this
Dark eyed and glamorous Italian girl with
Teeth as white as snowflakes
Talking
As one does
But in English
I felt so ashamed
I never learned another’s way
Because there was no need
All should speak our Mother tongue
Was my classes creed. It was
Up to Jonny Foreigner to
Make things very clear
As one does
But in English
I feel so ashamed
