Hampton Court Palace
Built in circa 1514 originally for Cardinal Wolsey, this splendid Royal Palace is run by the independent charity, Historic Royal Palaces, without funding from the Government or the Crown. Visitors will be fascinated by the royals who resided at Hampton Court Palace for over 500 years, most notably the flamboyant Tudor King Henry VIII; the impressive architecture; vast Tudor kitchens; one of the largest grape vines in the world; and 60 acres of stunning riverside gardens including the world famous maze. It also hosts a vastly popular annual RHS Flower Show.
